Mode of Action
Madison® SC 263 is a systemic fungicide combining two complementary active ingredients. Prothioconazole belongs to the triazole class and acts as a DMI inhibitor, blocking sterol biosynthesis. It provides long-lasting protection with preventive and curative action against a broad spectrum of pathogens.
Trifloxystrobin has a broad spectrum of activity, mesosystemic action, and high affinity to the leaf surface, followed by redistribution over the aerial parts of the plant. The product can control strains resistant to other fungicides due to the different modes of action of the two active ingredients.
The product quickly penetrates plant tissues and moves to leaf tips, providing a “green leaf” effect (prolonged maintenance of green foliage), which contributes to higher yields.
Dosage and Target Organisms
| Crop | Target Organism | Dosage (L/ha) |
|---|---|---|
| Wheat | Powdery Mildew, Rust, Septoria, Helminthosporium | 0.7 - 0.9 |
| Sugar Beet | Powdery Mildew, Cercospora | 0.6 |
Usage Instructions
Wheat: Maximum 2 treatments per growing season, applied preventively or curatively when first symptoms appear. The first treatment is usually applied between the end of tillering and the end of stem elongation.
Sugar Beet: Maximum 2 treatments per growing season. Apply preventively or at the first signs of Cercospora or powdery mildew. The product stimulates photosynthesis, improving water and nutrient uptake, which leads to significant yield increases.
